Added on: Notice: Smarty error: ordinal modifier: Parameter provided is not a number in /var/www/vhosts/ on line 1075

On May 8th 1945 the Allies celebrated the defeat of Nazi Germany and the end of Adolf Hitler’s Reich, formally recognising the end of the Second World War in Europe. This became known as VE (Victory in Europe) Day.

Follow the link to watch an 80 second tour of the Operations Room at
The Battle of Britain Bunker. It's quick and interesting:

What will you be doing to celebrate? Tag us @LoveUxbridge and share with us the fun you are all having! Maybe it'll be a social distancing street party? Making bunting? Baking up a storm or chatting to relatives who were actually there on this historically significant day!

Below we have compiled a list of resources and activities for children:
Imperial War Museum -
History UK -
BBC Bitesize -
Twinkle VE Day Pack-

And, don't forget to have a VE Day dance party at home! The team from the Battle of Britain Bunker (which you can download below) have picked some wonderful tunes to get the party in full swing...
