A Christmas spectacular is coming to intu Uxbridge as part of the town centre’s Christmas Light Switch On spectacular.
The celebrations will begin on Saturday 16 November from 3pm, when intu Uxbridge will come together with Uxbridge Town Centre for a Christmas lights switch-on to rival the best of them!
The Tinsel Town Christmas market will be opening its doors on the High Street, plus there will be festive face painting, Christmas craft activities and Christmas balloon modelling on or around the Love Uxbridge Christmas stage from 3pm to 7pm.
From 5pm to 6pm there will be musical delights of local bands and choirs.
And then *drumroll please*… At 6pm Father Christmas and his elves arrive and the countdown begins and the magical lights go on.
Watch out for our Christmas Belles, Giant Candy Canes, Nutcracker and Clara and Love Uxbridge Elves, Festive stilt walkers and more wandering around the town from 3.30pm to 7pm! Plus, the laser light show (which will be on display every evening until December 25th) projected onto Market House! And we haven’t even mentioned the festive FIREWORKS display at 6pm!
After the initial excitement ends, don’t rush off! The Christmas Market will be in full swing and a range of restaurants and eateries will be doing exclusive food and drink offers on the night!
There is something for everyone at the Love Uxbridge Christmas event and best of all, all of Love Uxbridge sponsored activities on the night are FREE!
Inside intu Uxbridge, an extravaganza of new decorations themed around the 12 Days of Christmas will transform the centre into a magical winter wonderland. Created by James Glancy Design – famed for its decorations in London’s Regents Street and Carnaby Street – this twinkling extravaganza is sure to take your breath away.
At the Christmas snow display outside Debenhams, Mother Christmas will tell festive stories from a sleigh on Saturdays throughout December. On Christmas Eve, Father Christmas will switch places with her, giving your little ones the chance to have a last-minute ‘elfie’ with the big man before he sets off on his rounds.
The much-loved grotto and Christmas workshop will return to the Piazza from Saturday 30 November too, so kiddies can make sure Santa knows exactly what’s on their all-important wish list. Tickets will be £5 (or £3 for under twos), which includes a Playmobil gift, a Christmas workbook and art activities. All proceeds from the grotto will go to Halo Children’s Foundation, intu Uxbridge’s Charity of the Year.
The Halo Memory Trees will be back for Christmas 2019 too, giving shoppers the chance to write a message to their loved ones who aren’t here to enjoy Christmas with them. Pop along to the Lower Mall outside next to write your message.
intu Uxbridge’s Christmas hours will kick in from 9 December, so you can shop until 8pm from Monday to Saturday. At this busy time of year, every little helps to get your Christmas shopping done!
Laurie Taylor, general manager of intu Uxbridge, said: “Our Christmas plans include sparkling decorations, festive displays and compelling experiences – many of which have important charities at their heart. Over the years, we have learnt just how to make our shoppers smile and we’re confident that our festivities will do the trick! We can’t wait for you to come and join us for some fun at this very special time of year.”
