Visitors to intu Uxbridge had a special treat when they got to see the love-themed CAPTURE 2020 art exhibition by students from Uxbridge College.
The love and connections-themed exhibition was the result of a collaboration between the shopping centre and the college.
The art pieces came from a variety of courses including art, design and fashion, and had been encouraged to interpret the brief however they wished. Their creations ranged from graphic design, illustration, photography, and time-based media, to architecture, interior design, fine art, fashion and textiles.
Laurie Taylor, general manager of intu Uxbridge, said: “The CAPTURE 2020 exhibition was a huge hit – our visitors loved it! Thank you so much to Uxbridge College and the incredible students who brought it to life. The standard of work was incredible. We chose the love and connections theme because being at the heart of the community is really important to us. This was a wonderful community partnership that we were proud to be involved in – allowing visitors to enjoy the fantastic work and giving students a platform to be seen.”
Uxbridge College’s journalism students, who were involved in marketing and promoting the event, also reported on the exhibition internally.
Roz Walecki, Course Team Leader in Art & Design at Uxbridge College, said: “Thank you to everyone at intu Uxbridge for collaborating with us on this project. It’s been a wonderful learning curve for our Creative Arts students, and we hope the visitors to intu Uxbridge enjoyed it as much as we did.”
